Alaska State Defence Force shut down

The Alaska State Defence Force has been shut down as of today with word going out through a state issued email to all members.

It's to bad really we were the only armed state defence force in the US and they had police powers and all. It always seemed a pretty good organization with patriotic/pro survival/ pro gun /pro constitution guys in it.

I dont know the specifics but pretty crappy timing considering the current economic and political world.

+1 please do - This is baaaad nooz

This could be the beginning of a purge. TPTB could be postioning themselves for something and the ASDF would serve them best "outside the loop".

but tha's just my

Re: Alaska State Defence Force shut down

I'm not to concerned with TPTB using them outside the loop I am concerened that the only non fedral armed military unit in the state has been shut down cant count on the Nat Guard to do the states bidding any more and these were the last hold outs of the original armed sanctioned state troops

Re: Alaska State Defence Force shut down

what do you mean by "shut down"?
has the charter been revoked by the state legislature?
I just talked to senator Seaton yesterday, he did not mention anything.

Re: Alaska State Defence Force shut down

This is an excerpt from an email one of my friends recieved that was in the ASDF

BG Westall has advised me that the TAG has suspended the Military Police status
of the Brigade. A new mission assignment is being formulated at DMVA.

No further training in Military Police subjects will be taught for the
immediate future, effective immediately. Training in support of MP duties and
activities will also terminate until we have specific direction for the
Brigade.

The General has also decided to retire effective today, and has turned command
over to COL Williams. Soldiers should not attempt to make direct contact with
BG Westall today, he is busy working with the TAG to make the transition to the
new mission.

As soon as information is available concerning the status of the Brigade and
it's mission email will be posted.

Exactly.

They are systematically shutting down the centers of common defence and preperation.

Just like they had NORAD stand down.

See my thread in the constitution subforum, RE: Serving in a state guard which is not subject to federal jurisdiction.

I guess this is a resounding answer.
